The Quad Squad Strike Again

With the new build complete Y3 & 4 classes will soon be coming round the back and into the playground again to meet parents at the end of the day. As this has not been used for ages, it has become a dumping ground. What a mess! The Quad Squad have been tasked with the clean up and set about it with their usual enthusiasm. Check out what a difference they have made in only an hour…

The Squad make a start on the Quad

Today was an absolute scorcher for the end of September with temperatures in the quad hitting a whopping 25 C.
The Quad Squad got a sweat on staring their big Autumn tidy up!

Buried Treasure…

The Quad Squad hit the allotment and dig for treasure…
Another ‘Golden Moment’ when the Quad Squad realize where potatoes come from… Wow!

Looks like a good year!

Here are some photos of life on the allotment during early May. We are waiting for some plants to appear (like the carrots), but other plants are springing up really quickly; just a few weeks ago there was hardly anything to see – just empty beds… We’ll post some  more photos soon:)

Watering time

Y5 & 6 children spent an hour watering this thirsty allotment and were rewarded by polishing off all the ripe strawberries! As often happens it rained like crazy only a few hours later, but it was good exercise!

The Big Chill….

Obviously things have slowed right down over the Winter months and nothing much has been harvested apart from the odd sprout and leek. Onion, shallot and garlic sets were planted out in October/November along with some raspberry canes, hopefully all doing ok beneath their blanket of snow…
